Veer and Aditi return home with her mother.
Veer's grandmother also heartily welcomed her.
Aditi was blessed to have them.
At night, in Veer and Aditi's room, the soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated the cozy space.
Aditi was seated on the bed, her legs tucked underneath her as she immersed herself in a captivating novel.
Veer, on the other hand, was hunched over his laptop on the couch, his brow furrowed in concentration.
As Aditi stole glances at Veer, a warm feeling spread through her chest.
She admired the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he focused intently on his work, the way his fingers moved deftly over the keyboard, there was something about him that still made her heart skip a beat.
After a moment of hesitation, Aditi finally gathered the courage to speak up.
"Veer"
she called out softly, causing him to look up from his screen.
"Yes?"
he responded, his voice filled with warmth.
Aditi fidgeted with her fingers nervously, her heart pounding in her chest.
"Thank you,"
she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Veer raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Why are you thanking me?" he asked.
Aditi took a deep breath.
"For letting my mother stay here. I appreciate it more than you know,"
she said earnestly. Veer's expression softened as he gazed at her.
"Aditi, she's my mother too. I want her to feel at home here," he replied.
A wave of gratitude washed over Aditi as she looked at Veer. She couldn't help but feel a surge of affection for him in that moment.
"Accha, now sleep,"
Veer said, closing his laptop and preparing to settle down on the couch for the night.
"Veer,"
Aditi called out again, causing him to turn towards her.
"Please don't sleep there. You can sleep with me here, I'm okay with it,"
she said, her voice filled with sincerity.
Veer studied her intently, his gaze searching her face.
"Aditi, your words and your expressions don't match. I can see that you're grateful, but you're not entirely comfortable with this idea. When you're truly okay with it, I'll come and sleep next to you. Until then, you should rest,"
he said gently.
Aditi felt a rush of emotions swirling within her.
She admired Veer's attentiveness and his consideration for her feelings.
The respect and admiration she held for him only grew stronger in that moment.
As she watched Veer settle down on the couch, a sense of warmth and contentment washed over her.
She knew that she was lucky to have someone like him by her side, someone who cared for her welfare and made sure she was comfortable in every situation.
And as she drifted off to sleep, she couldn't help but feel grateful for the presence of Veer in her life, for his kindness, his understanding, and his unwavering support. With him by her side, she knew that she was truly blessed.
At midnight,
Veer was fast asleep, his peaceful slumber interrupted by the sound of her piercing screams.
At first, Veer thought he was dreaming.
He opened his eyes and looked around the room, only to see Aditi thrashing and crying out in her sleep.
"No..no.. leave me pa..pa ple..please... I'll not do it again...!!!"
His heart clenched with worry as he rushed to her side, gently shaking her awake. He cupped her face,
"Aditi, Aditi, wake up,"
Veer whispered, his voice filled with concern.
Aditi's eyes shot open, her breathing ragged as she tried to make sense of her surroundings.
Tears streamed down her face as she clung to Veer, seeking solace and safety in his arms.
"It's okay, Aditi, you're safe. I'm here,"
Veer murmured, his hand stroking her back in a soothing gesture.
Aditi's trembling form slowly began to relax as she took deep, shuddering breaths.
Veer handed her a glass of water, which she drank greedily, trying to calm her racing heart.
"What was it, Aditi? What were you dreaming about?"
Veer asked gently, his voice filled with concern.
Aditi hesitated, her eyes avoiding his gaze before she finally spoke, her voice barely above a whisper.
"He was. he was beating me. My father"
Aditi choked out, her body shaking with remembered fear.
Veer's heart clenched with rage at the mention of her abusive father.
He had heard bits and pieces of the horror she had endured at her father's hands, the scars both physical and emotional that she carried from her childhood.
"Aditi, your father can never hurt you again. You're safe with me. I will protect you"
Veer promised, his voice filled with determination.
Aditi buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking through his shirt as she held onto him with a fierceness born of years of pain and fear.
Veer wrapped his arms around her, offering her the comfort and security that had been sorely lacking in her life.
For hours, they stayed like that, wrapped in each other's arms as the storm raged outside.
As the first light of dawn crept through the curtains, Aditi finally fell into an exhausted sleep in Veer's embrace, her breathing steady and calm.
Veer watched over her, his heart overflowing with love and gratitude for the strong and resilient woman who had captured his heart.
In that moment, Veer knew that he would do anything to protect Aditi, to shield her from the darkness that haunted her dreams.
And as he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, he vowed to be her rock, her anchor in a world that had once been filled with nothing but pain and fear....!!!!
Together, they would face whatever came their way, hand in hand, united in their love and their shared commitment to healing the wounds of the past and building a future filled with hope and happiness. And as Veer held
Aditi close, he knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, as partners, as soulmates, as survivors....!!!!
